Few people seem to understand today that true human evolution was internal, and that only very recently has humanity turned outward, that is, to developing material things. And this fact makes all the difference in the resolution of humanity's paths.
So, no matter how much humanity tries to turn outward, its destiny is ineluctably marked by the challenge of transcendence, under penalty of its complete extinction as a species, and perhaps not even then. Thus, the work planned for it has been done, for better or for worse. The true powers of this world are all in the inner planes, and from there they manage the events outside.
Consciousness represents one of the greatest enigmas of the Universe, and Science doesn't even know where to begin researching, fearful of finding things it has always denied. Among other factors, human consciousness is made up of a complex network of energies accessed through the subtle faculties developed by our species, through gifts such as telepathy, intuition, and mediumship, to name just the most common. And it naturally evolves through culture and education.
Like everything else, consciousness isn't something given to humanity ready-made, but an achievement of culture itself, and perhaps the greatest and most important of them all. And that's precisely why it still fluctuates and can be developed or extinguished in each human being.
People naively believe that this late awakening to matter was due to humanity's primitive stage at the time, but this is nothing more than a prejudice. The reality is that only now has humanity been liberated to face its longed-for material "progress," because spiritually, it is already prepared to face the consequences of whatever may result.
We do not deny that human evolution has largely occurred due to the increase in its pragmatic abilities on the physical plane. Nevertheless, it is still very important to note two points here: a. the long period in which species remained in cultural stages considered relatively primary—more than 99% of human experience occurred during the Paleolithic period; and b. the undeniable (albeit underestimated and little-known) importance of spirituality and religiosity throughout its existence up to the present day.
Homo sapiens lived alongside older species for a long time and learned about their spiritual experiments, adopting their practices and sometimes improving them. Certainly, those species also controlled things, preventing the emergence of great innovations.
Spirituality has been, through its spokespeople, humanity's great reservoir of consciousness throughout time, preventing it from embarking on premature and unnecessary reckless adventures. Today, it's possible to understand how right all those authorities were who gave humanity new directions and helped it discover new dimensions of existence. All of this applies even to its physical evolution and essential physical integrity, because modern research has shown that, ultimately, life forms considered primitive could have helped humans better preserve their physical health.
Prejudice against natural and spiritual life has served as a blindfold to prevent us from seeing other realities, and the most interesting thing is that this is also a magical blindfold, not a strictly scientific or impartial one. This is still a very ideological blindfold made of maya, illusion, obsession, and witchcraft—which only proves everything we are affirming here. These are remnants of the ancient magic that sought to cling to this world tooth and nail, having been capable of performing the most unthinkable aberrations to avoid the death of consciousness. Unlike before, these means were more subtle and now they will be material. However, these new efforts are unlikely to prosper either, because they are delusions and must be interrupted by some terminal crisis, as always happens when oppression and insanity reach very high levels.
The reality is that everything was meticulously planned to be this way, according to the dictates of the Almighty. For the Initiates, there are no rigid boundaries between this world and the others. When one closes the doors of the senses, other windows open to unknown worlds. And these worlds are as rich and populous as this one, if not more so.
To access these worlds, intensive training is required. Some strong individuals may be able to glimpse them through artifice, although such experiences often come at a high price. Their value lies solely in providing some information to those who feel minimally prepared, and then the person must seek access to them through appropriate techniques. Consciousness is the most complex structure in the universe, as it represents a tool for exploring the worlds, and any misstep can compromise its fragile structures. The labyrinths of consciousness are so complex that, according to Tradition, it is believed that only an experienced Guide is capable of leading someone along the true paths of humanity's liberation.
Everything is energy in the universe, but only the physical plane is made of dense or material energy. To access other worlds, we must train our more subtle senses. This is important because our stay in this physical world is brief and limited.
Each plane is like a portal. Those who receive the passwords to the next plane will pass through the first portal after death. Then there will be another portal, and another. In them, the evolution of consciousness continues, through reincarnations and passages through successive planes. Only the fourth portal ensures the true immortality of consciousness and liberation from this physical world, because the nature of this world is also fourfold.
These four Portals are themselves a symbol of consciousness, forming the mandala of human evolution. Humans have gradually practiced them since the earliest beginnings of their evolution, probably even before the arrival of Homo evolution. Although religious or ritual evidence is considered to date only approximately 500,000 years ago (the human Cognitive Revolution is the fractal or 10% of this period, corresponding to the earliest roots of Homo sapiens), further research may still advance this date, especially since there may have been practices that left no trace.
It is a relatively well-known fact that when something becomes evident, it is because it began to be rehearsed and practiced in other forms and on a smaller scale long before. Within the wide variety of cults and mystical and religious practices, the forms vary, and many can be performed without leaving even a short-term trace. Even today, there are mystical and religious practices that leave no physical trace of their performance.
Ultimately, no matter how much humanity errs and strays from the right path, everything tends to contribute to catapulting it toward its ultimate destiny of sublimation. René Guénon would say that when the world becomes a realm of quantity, it subsequently transforms into a realm of quality. However, this new "quality" does not necessarily mean that it will occur in this world.
